Drop a RAW file from your camera and get the exact shutter actuation count in seconds — processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is ever sent to a server. Works with Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, and more.
Check Shutter Count →Most shutter count tools require you to upload your RAW files to a remote server — which raises privacy concerns, is slow on large files, and may have file size limits. ShutterCount works differently:
Your RAW file is read directly in the browser. It never touches any server. Your photos stay on your device.
No waiting for upload or server processing. The shutter count appears in under a second regardless of file size.
No registration, no email, no password. Open the page, drop the file, done.
No freemium tier, no daily limits, no watermarks. Completely free for everyone, forever.
Works on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, and Android. Any modern browser is supported.
Drop multiple RAW files at once to check an entire shooting session or compare two bodies.

Every RAW file your camera produces contains not just image data, but also a rich block of metadata called EXIF. Inside EXIF is a manufacturer-specific section called the MakerNote, which stores camera settings, firmware version, and — crucially — the shutter actuation count.
ShutterCount's parser:
The entire process runs in your browser's JavaScript engine. No data is transmitted anywhere.
Yes, completely free. No account, no daily limits, no file size caps (beyond what your browser can handle), no premium tier.
No. ShutterCount runs in any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. No extensions, no plugins, no app download.
Your files never leave your device. There is no server upload. The JavaScript parser reads the file locally using the browser's File API. We have no access to your images.
Yes. Open shuttercount.app in your phone's browser and use the file picker to select a RAW file stored on your phone or accessible via cloud storage (Files app on iOS, Files app on Android).
Try it anyway — many models work even if not explicitly listed. If you get no result, the MakerNote structure for that model hasn't been mapped yet. You can contact us with your camera model and we'll look into adding support.
