Why Compare Shutter Counts?

On the used market, the shutter actuation count is one of the clearest indicators of how hard a camera has worked. Two bodies of the same model can differ by hundreds of thousands of actuations — and different models carry very different rated lifespans, so the same count means different things on different cameras.

These comparisons put two bodies side by side so you can see not just which is rated to last longer, but how a given actuation count translates into remaining life on each. Whichever you choose, always verify the real count from an original RAW file with the free ShutterCount tool before you buy.
