The Hasselblad 907X & CFV 100C (2023) pairs the 100 MP CFV 100C digital back with the retro V-system 907X body. The shutter lives in each lens, not the body — understanding what “shutter count” means for this system requires a different approach.

Each Hasselblad V-system lens (CF, CFE, CB, Superachromat series) contains its own multi-blade leaf shutter rated independently. XCD lenses used through the 907X’s XCD interface likewise have leaf shutters. The 907X body itself is a mount and electronics housing with no shutter mechanism of its own.
The CFV 100C digital back records a running exposure counter in every 3FR file’s MakerNote. This counter tracks total activations of the digital back regardless of which lens or body it is mounted on — a critical point for a modular system where the same back may be paired with a 907X body, a 500-series film body, or another CFV-compatible body.

Classic Hasselblad V-system lenses (80mm f/2.8, 50mm f/4, 150mm f/4, etc.) have leaf shutters typically rated at 100,000–150,000 actuations. Leaf-shutter service (cleaning, lubrication, timing adjustment) is a routine maintenance item and costs approximately €200–400 per lens at Hasselblad authorised service centres. A used lens with unknown history should have the shutter inspected by a technician before purchase.
Hasselblad’s current XCD lenses (for the X-system and 907X body) use leaf shutters rated at ~500,000 actuations — substantially higher than legacy V-system glass. XCD lenses store an actuation counter electronically that is readable via Phocus.

No. The 907X body contains no shutter mechanism. The shutter is located inside each individual V-system or XCD lens (leaf shutter). When using the 907X without a lens shutter — such as with tilt/shift adapters — the electronic shutter can be used instead.
Yes. The back’s counter is a total-exposure counter, incrementing on every capture regardless of whether the exposure was made by a lens leaf shutter or by the sensor’s electronic shutter mode. It is not a mechanical-wear counter for any specific shutter.
Only Hasselblad Customer Support can reset the counter, typically not as a routine service. The value in a 3FR MakerNote is authoritative.
All current Hasselblad XCD lenses (the X-system line used natively on the X1D, X2D, and X-mount adapter for the 907X) have modern high-cycle leaf shutters. Legacy V-system CF/CFE glass carries the traditional ~100,000–150,000-actuation rating.
