Hasselblad professional body servicing is expensive. When buying used, also check the lens mount contacts, viewfinder clarity, and that both card slots read and write correctly. The H6D-100c requires H-system lenses (HC/HCD mount).
Hasselblad's 3FR format is built on a TIFF foundation but wraps proprietary IFD and MakerNote structures that differ significantly from Canon/Nikon/Sony implementations. The browser-based parser in shuttercount.app has not yet added 3FR MakerNote support. ExifTool, which is community-maintained and has extensive reverse-engineering of Hasselblad metadata, reads the ShutterCount tag reliably from 3FR files.
A single 3FR RAW from the H6D-100c is typically 200–400 MB. A shoot of 500 frames requires 100–200 GB of storage. The CFast 2.0 card slots handle the write speed; fast NVMe storage is essential for post-production workflow. Phocus and Capture One both support 3FR natively.
The H6D-100c uses the traditional H-system SLR design with a reflex mirror, optical viewfinder, and HC/HCD interchangeable lenses. The X-system (X1D, X2D) is mirrorless with a different XCD mount. H-system lenses have leaf shutters integrated into each lens (distinct from the body's focal-plane shutter on the H6D), which allows flash sync at all shutter speeds.

The H6D-100c body has a focal-plane shutter. However, all HC and HCD lenses also contain a leaf shutter within the lens optics, which enables flash sync at all shutter speeds regardless of the focal-plane shutter setting. The shutter count recorded in the 3FR EXIF reflects the total actuations of the body's focal-plane shutter.
The H6D-100c was discontinued after Hasselblad introduced the mirrorless X2D 100C (2022) as their flagship 100 MP system. Used H6D-100c bodies remain available and offer the same 100 MP resolution at significantly lower prices than when new, making them appealing for commercial studios upgrading from earlier H-system bodies.
