The Panasonic Lumix G100 (DC-G100 / G110) does not store the shutter count in its RW2 RAW files. Learn how to check it via the camera menu — and what count to look for when buying used.
Check Shutter Count →The Lumix G100 is Panasonic's compact, vlog-oriented Micro Four Thirds camera, launched in 2020. It features a 20.3 MP Dual Native ISO sensor, 3-axis IBIS, built-in directional 3-mic audio, and 4K/30p video. Like all Lumix cameras, its shutter count is not accessible from RW2 RAW files.
| Model | Release | Sensor | Est. Shutter Life | RAW Format |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Panasonic Lumix G100 (DC-G100) | 2020 | 20.3 MP MFT | ~200,000 | RW2 |
| Panasonic Lumix G110 (DC-G110) | 2020 | 20.3 MP MFT | ~200,000 | RW2 |
Note: ShutterCount.app can parse the RW2 file header and display EXIF metadata, but the shutter count itself will not be present since Panasonic does not include it in the file.
The G100 is primarily a vlog and video camera. Many used bodies have accumulated most of their use in video mode (electronic shutter), keeping the mechanical shutter count very low. This is normal and not a concern. Only stills shot with the mechanical shutter increment the counter.
| Actuation Count | % of Est. Life | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| 0 – 20,000 | 0 – 10 % | Very low use — near new |
| 20,000 – 60,000 | 10 – 30 % | Low use — plenty of life remaining |
| 60,000 – 120,000 | 30 – 60 % | Moderate use — normal |
| 120,000 – 170,000 | 60 – 85 % | High use — negotiate price |
| 170,000 + | 85 %+ | Near est. limit — factor in shutter replacement (~€100–200) |
No. 4K Photo mode captures frames using the electronic shutter at high speed. No mechanical shutter movement occurs, so the counter is not incremented. This is one of the reasons why high-use G100 bodies may still have very low mechanical shutter counts.
Yes. The Lumix G100 (DC-G100) and Lumix G110 (DC-G110) are the same camera sold under different names in different regions. The G110 name is used primarily in Europe. Both are identical in terms of shutter mechanism, RAW file behavior, and shutter count checking methods.
No. Like RW2, JPEG files from Lumix cameras do not contain the shutter count in their MakerNote metadata. The only reliable methods are the camera menu and the Lumix Sync app.
Yes, completely free. ShutterCount.app processes your files in the browser. While it cannot display the G100's shutter count from a file, it works for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, and many other cameras.
