Xiaomi 14T Shutter Count:
How to Check Image Counter

The Xiaomi 14T (2024) shoots native DNG in Leica Pro mode with a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL HP9A sensor tuned by Leica and has no mechanical shutter — the image counter in each DNG records total electronic captures. Drop a RAW DNG file to read it instantly.

Xiaomi 14T — Leica Optics, Dimensity 9300+

The Xiaomi 14T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ and brings the Leica camera partnership to Xiaomi’s affordable T-series flagship lineup. Its triple-camera system features a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL HP9A main sensor (f/1.6, OIS, Leica optics), a 13 MP ultrawide (f/2.2, 120°), and a 50 MP 2.6× optical telephoto (f/1.9, Leica). Like all smartphones, every camera uses CMOS electronic readout — there is no mechanical focal-plane shutter.

Released in September 2024, the 14T delivers Leica colour profiles (Authentic and Vibrant), Leica watermarks in JPEG mode, and full DNG RAW output in Leica Pro mode. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display achieves 144 Hz refresh and 4000 nits peak brightness.

No mechanical shutter — no shutter wear: The Xiaomi 14T has no mechanical focal-plane shutter. The counter in the DNG file reflects total electronic captures. A high image count indicates heavy use, but carries no hardware failure risk related to shutter wear.

How to Check the Xiaomi 14T Image Counter

  1. Enable RAW in Leica Pro mode: Open the Camera app and switch to Leica Pro mode (or standard Pro mode). Tap the RAW toggle to enable DNG output.
  2. Shoot a test photo: Capture any subject. The Xiaomi 14T saves a DNG alongside a JPEG in Pro mode. Files are stored in DCIM/Camera.
  3. Transfer the DNG to a computer: Connect via USB in File Transfer (MTP) mode. Copy the .dng file to your computer. Alternatively, use Xiaomi Share or a cloud service.
  4. Drop into shuttercount.app: Drag the DNG file onto shuttercount.app. The tool reads the image counter from the DNG EXIF MakerNote and displays it instantly — no upload required.
  5. Alternative — ExifTool: Run exiftool -ImageNumber yourfile.DNG in a terminal to read the counter directly from the EXIF metadata.
Leica Pro mode: The Xiaomi 14T includes a dedicated Leica Pro shooting mode that applies Leica Authentic or Leica Vibrant colour profiles. DNG files from this mode contain unprocessed sensor data — the Leica colour profile is applied only to the embedded JPEG preview.

Xiaomi 14T Image Counter — FAQ

Does the Xiaomi 14T have a mechanical shutter?

No. All Xiaomi smartphones use CMOS electronic readout — there is no mechanical focal-plane shutter. The image counter in the DNG file is a software counter reflecting total electronic captures.

Is the Xiaomi 14T better than the Xiaomi 14?

It depends on priorities. The Xiaomi 14 uses a premium Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and a slightly superior Light Fusion 900 main sensor, and is positioned as a compact flagship with faster overall performance. The 14T uses Dimensity 9300+ and targets European markets at a lower price point with comparable Leica camera performance. For RAW photography, both produce excellent DNG files with Leica colour tuning.

Is the Xiaomi 14T supported by shuttercount.app?

Yes — drop a DNG RAW file from the Xiaomi 14T’s Leica Pro mode into shuttercount.app and the tool will display the image counter.
