Straight answer first: the browser tool cannot read a shutter count from a Lumix L10 RW2 file, because Panasonic has never written that value into a Lumix RAW file — and Panasonic publishes no shutter durability rating for this camera either. Drop an L10 file in and you get model, firmware, dates, exposure data and serial numbers; you do not get an actuation total. Below: why, what a used buyer can check instead, and why a leaf shutter makes the question a different one.

It is a fixed-lens enthusiast compact: a Four Thirds sensor behind a Leica-branded fast standard zoom, in a body whose shape and controls descend from the LX100 line. DPReview called it the most exciting camera of 2026 so far, which is a fair summary of how thin a year this has been for new cameras and of how few compacts of this class exist.

DMC-L10 is the DSLR, DC-L10 is the compact.
ShutterCount works by finding a counter the camera itself wrote into the file. Nikon puts it in MakerNote tag 0x00A7, Sony in the encrypted 0x9050 block, Fujifilm in 0x1438, Pentax and Ricoh in the XOR-scrambled 0x005D, and Canon in the CameraInfo blob carried by CR3 and CR2 files. Panasonic writes none of these.
An RW2 file is a TIFF variant carrying Panasonic’s own 0x0055 magic in place of the standard 0x002A, and the parser accepts that magic explicitly, so an L10 file opens and reads normally. What comes back is the standard EXIF: camera model, firmware version, capture date and time, ISO, aperture, shutter speed, focal length, lens identification, and the body and lens serial numbers when the camera writes them. There is simply no actuation field in the file. That has been true of every Lumix generation, S-series, G-series and compact alike, and it is a Panasonic design decision rather than something a parser could work around.
Dropping an L10 file into the tool is still worth doing when you are checking a used listing: the firmware version, the body serial number and the capture dates are all real, verifiable facts about the camera that produced that file. The actuation total will not be among them.
Most shutter-count pages on this site are about a focal-plane shutter: two blade curtains behind the mount, a well-understood wear item, a manufacturer figure to measure against. The L10 has nothing of the sort. Its mechanical shutter is a leaf shutter built into the fixed lens, the same architecture used in Ricoh’s GR line and in most premium compacts, and three consequences follow.
First, there is no published rating to measure against. Panasonic quotes durability figures for its interchangeable-lens bodies — 200,000 releases on much of the G and S line, 400,000 on the S1 family — on the reliability pages for those cameras. Those numbers describe focal-plane units in other products. Panasonic has published nothing of the kind for the L10, and inventing an estimate by analogy with a different mechanism in a different camera would be worse than saying so plainly.
Second, a large share of the camera’s frames may never touch the blades. The leaf shutter runs to 1/2000 s; the electronic shutter runs to 1/32000 s; and unlike the Fujifilm X100VI it is cross-shopped against, the L10 has no built-in ND filter. Shooting the 24 mm end wide open at F1.7 in daylight goes past 1/2000 s routinely, and in the automatic shutter setting the camera switches to the electronic shutter for exactly those frames. Add 30 fps electronic bursts against roughly 11 fps mechanical, and video, which moves no blades at all, and the gap between “frames taken” and “mechanical actuations” on this body can be very wide. Even a readable counter would only answer one of those two questions.
Third, the shutter is not a separately replaceable part. On an interchangeable-lens body, a worn shutter unit is a defined repair with a known price. Here the blades sit inside the fixed lens assembly, along with the OIS group and the zoom motor, so a shutter fault is a lens-unit service on a camera that is one sealed product. That is an argument for testing the shutter directly rather than for hunting a number.
None of this produces a number, and on this camera nothing will. What it produces is a judgement about condition, which on a fixed-lens compact is the more useful thing anyway.
If verifying usage from a file before buying matters to you, it is worth knowing which bodies allow it. The tool runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded — and returns a count for Nikon NEF, Sony ARW, Fujifilm RAF, Pentax and Ricoh PEF/DNG, and the Canon bodies with a validated offset. Panasonic and Olympus/OM System files do not carry the value at all. Among the compacts an L10 buyer is likely to be cross-shopping, the Ricoh GR IV writes its release counter into the same Pentax MakerNote tag the tool already decodes, and Fujifilm’s X100VI writes an ImageCount into its RAF files.
No. No Lumix camera writes the actuation count into its RAW files, so there is nothing in an L10 RW2 for any tool to read. The rest of the EXIF — model, firmware, dates, exposure data, serial numbers — reads normally.
Panasonic has not published one. The 200,000 and 400,000 figures quoted around the Lumix G and S ranges come from those cameras’ own reliability pages and describe focal-plane shutters; the L10’s leaf shutter is a different mechanism in a different product, so carrying a number across would be a guess dressed up as a specification.
Not one documented for the L10. Some recent Lumix bodies show a Body Battery Info page under Setup; whether the L10 exposes usage information there is unconfirmed. The internal counters that service centres read are the authoritative source.
Video moves no blades at all. The up-to-30 fps burst uses the electronic shutter; only the roughly 11 fps mechanical burst cycles the leaf shutter. And because there is no built-in ND and the mechanical ceiling is 1/2000 s, a lot of bright-light shooting at F1.7 is taken electronically too.
No — Panasonic reused the name. The 2007 DMC-L10 was a Four Thirds DSLR with an interchangeable mount; the 2026 DC-L10 is this fixed-lens compact. The EXIF model string tells them apart.
It is a long-standing design decision rather than a technical limit — the camera tracks the value internally but never writes it into image metadata. Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Pentax/Ricoh and Canon (on many bodies) do write it, which is why those brands can be verified from a single sample file and Panasonic cannot.
